A worthy purpose

Inpirational Quotes Life Purpose Helen Keller
Helen Keller had such profound wisdom to share. This quote is one I particularly love.

How often do we seek for instant gratification? We go for the immediate feeling of well being instead of the long term feeling of overall happiness.

We take that glas of wine or that pizza, even though we are on the path to excellent health... Or we stay on the couch instead of going for a walk in the rain, rather staying dry than getting fitter with each walk.

I think that is often because of the fact that we have not incorporated (literally) our far away goal. We have not set our minds to the ultimate goal. Then it is easier to side track.

I often compare it to taking our car to travel somewhere. If we know that we are going to visit a special friend and will have a great time there, we will be able to rise early, jump out of bed and enjoy the travelling. Because we know what awaits us, we can go to great length.

On the other hand, if we have a long working day ahead of us and we are going to an appointment or meeting that we do not really like, well, you get the picture: we have more problems rising in the morning, we don't like the traffic and each kilometre more seems long...

So, let's make our goal a worthy goal! More about Aligning With Your Purpose on the telesummit that Aline Boundy hosts.
